After the Invisalign treatment plan is finalized, your Sacramento dentist orders a series of customized clear aligners. Crafted for each patient individually, aligners are formed from toxin-free plastics and designed to avoid irritation of the cheeks and gums.
The patient returns when the first aligners arrive at our downtown Sacramento dental office. A series of small, smooth, molded aligner attachment points will be glued to either the front or back of a few specific teeth. These attachments hold your aligners in place and allow the gentle force of the Invisalign system to alter your teeth for the better. Like the aligners, they are very hard to notice and should never irritate your mouth.
The doctor demonstrates how to attach and remove the aligners and provides the patient with containers for the new set and the previous set. New aligners arrive at the patient’s home address about every two weeks. Patients wear the aligners throughout the day, for at least 20 to 22 hours, taking them off for cleaning, eating or special occasions.
